I agree with this rule, because saying 'compañeros' and 'compañeras' or 'guatemaltecos' and 'guatemaltecas' is not only redundant, but produces cacophony.
ResponderEliminarI agree with Jorge, I get the point that some terms may sound exclusive, but rules are rules, and in Spanish the rule is clear. However, I would make sure the client doesn't require "todos/todas" in a specific context (there are cases, such as the educational context where boys and girls are not considered equal, and you will need to make gender differentiation).

This is something that we use because we hear it everyday, but it is true that it is redundant to me unnecessary.
